engine swap, dodge ram 1500, dodge durango

hello
i need to replace my 2000 dodge durango 4.7 v8 4x4 engine because the engine gone bad, friend of mine has a 2002 dodge ram 1500 4x4 engine ,it is a 4.7 v8 magnum my question ,will it fit?

As far as I know it should fit because they are the same size engine... however being two different years there could be differences... I was going to not answer this one because really it's a bit beyond me, it would take a lot more research than I care to dig into myself... You'd have to make sure the engine mounts are in the same spot, that's for sure.
Try calling a dealer and talk to the parts counter there or go ahead and give it a shot- I think these are your best two options, but that's a heck of a lot of work if it doesn't fit right.
