I just got an old 90 civic that has been mostly undriven for the past two years. When I make turns, either left or right, there is a clicking noise which is louder at higher speeds, but only there when turning. It's not so bad that highway driving makes such noises, just when "in town" type corners. Not being much of a car guy, my best guess might CV joints.
Is this a good guess or are there other possibilities?
Is this an expensive fix are there cheap alternative temporary fixes?
Above all, is it safe to drive this vehichle once or twice a week on the highway?
Any help at all is much appreciated, thanks,
Andy i would say that you are on the right track with the cv axles. I don't know how much they would be on your car.....call a parts store, they would know. You can get the cv axle from the junk yard for cheap, but i wouldn't trust them. You can drive it till it breaks, but if they do break, be ready for a tow bill, because the car will not move.
