Squeeling noise when car starts 95 Saturn SL2

I have a 95 Saturn SL2 and almost every time I start it up, it makes a loud pitched squeeling noise. It eventually stops after driving a few hundred yards. What could be causing this and how do I fix it? Have you checked your belt? Here is a quick way to check. Go into your house and get some liquid hand soap. Put it on the belt of the car and crank it a few times. If it goes away then you need a new belt, your belt is worn. This is exactly what my car is doing. Have you tried turning off the air conditioner before starting the car and see if it doesn't happen? Does the air conditioner control it at all?

I realize there's more than one belt in a car that could make the sound, I'm just wondering. In addition to checking the belt also check the belt tensioner, it is quite common for these tensoiners to become weak over time and can allow the belt to become loose.
