Any ideas on my posting June 15/04 about the brake noise????????? kathy grace wrote:I have a 2001 Sunfire, once the car has been driven about 75 km and the brakes are applied I hear a loud grinding noise, like metal on metal, we replaced the rotors, pads and calipers and it is still doing it, brakeing capability is good, and there is no wear on the rotors or pads, they have apx 2000 km on them. Any ideas????????????
That was your post. There is actually this new brake alignment thing out, That could be your problem. You would have to goto a dealership to have it done, i don't know to many side shops that have it, but there are some.
It actually measures runout and other stuff in the brake and adds a thin metal plate behind tha caliper.
Good luck
its called brake align and its for brake pulsation, not noise.the shim is installed behind the rotor not the caliper.I wonder if Gm 319 is a shop porter ? It also puts more pad on the rotor, which in turn makes noise go away. I just went to a course on it, just couldn't remember the name of it.
Just out of curiosity do you know what brand of brake parts were used? Venturi wrote:Just out of curiosity do you know what brand of brake parts were used?
