2000 Dakota makes grumbling noise

So i was driving up to my cabin yesterday, and all of a sudden the air conditioning in my dodge Dakota gave out. it was still blowing air but not cold air. after an hour or so i started to smell a burning smell every now and then for about 10 seconds at a time.
I started my truck today and it made the noisiest grumbling sound. It kind of sounded like i started my truck in a room that has a horrible echo. after a minute the noise went down, but it was still there. It was also really vibrating when idling. Other than that it seemed to run fine!
Im not sure if the conditioning and this noise have anything to do with each other i just thought i'd mentiong both. Also i had my belts replaced a little less than a month ago, would that cause the smell perhaps? Im getting tired of repairing this truck!!! lol

A/C quit blowing cool air, noise, smells, and vibrating at idle all suggestive of a seized or seizing compressor. It should be disable at once to verify if the noises go away and recheck even a new belt that it survived that,

PS: Compressor can operate in other modes than just the request for A/C so it must be disable for the check and prevent more problems than it probably already has.....
