95 Mazda making clicking sound during turns

Hi,

I have a 1995 Mazda 626 with 126,000 miles. It has just started making
a clicking sound while making turns. While the car is going straight, it is
fine. I realize that this is not an engine problem but worn bearings or
something of that nature. Anybody have any ideas?

-AJ It sounds like it is most likely a worn cv axle. Could be a drive hub, but most likely it is a CV joint. Drive hub noise is sensitive to the loads on the wheel (which shift when turning), CV joint noise is sensitive to steering angle. If it's noisy turning both left and right, it's the CV joint. Another possibility, if it's only when turning in one direction, is a loose piece of trim tapping against the wheel.Car Repair Talk's forum.
