- Step 1
Locate the PCV valve on the Jeep Grand Cherokee. You'll find the PCV valve on top of the engine with a small hose connected to it. The part is located directly on the oil filler tube.
- Step 2
Disconnect the hose of the PCV valve in order to remove the part. Then, turn the PCV valve counter clockwise until you have freed it from the cam lock. Finish removal by pulling the valve away from the engine.
- Step 3
Test whether the PCV valve works properly. Shake the part and listen for a rattling sound. If you don't hear a rattle, then you need to make the replacement on your Grand Cherokee.
- Step 4
Purchase the new PCV valve for your Jeep Grand Cherokee. You can find a good price on the Grand Cherokee PCV valve at Car Parts Wholesale. You'll find the standard replacement for six-cylinder and V8 engines manufactured between 1993 and 1998.
- Step 5
Find the tabs on the PCV valve. Place the tabs into the cam lock of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Push the rest of the valve into the opening and then reconnect the hose to finish the job.
