- Standard mechanic's toolset
- Shop rags
- Remove the Intake Manifold
- Step 1
Remove both the supercharger and the generator. Drain the charged air cooling system. Disconnect the system inlet and outlet hoses.
- Step 2
Pull the charged air coolant pump as well as the assembly for the cooling fan. Loosen the bolt to the oil level indicator tube, then remove the bolt and the tube.
- Step 3
Disconnect the electrical connector from the intake manifold. Pull all the coolant hoses.
- Step 4
Locate all the fasteners for the intake manifold. Remove the nuts and bolts and then remove the intake manifold. Pull the gasket from the manifold and set it aside for re-use if it is not damaged.
Install the New Manifold - Step 1
Put the gasket in the intake manifold and then set the manifold in place. Set the nuts and bolts in position and tighten them to 89 inch lbs.
- Step 2
Reconnect the coolant hoses to the manifold. Tighten each of the clamps to 13 foot pounds. Reconnect the electrical connector.
- Step 3
Place the oil level indicator tube in position. Bolt it in place using 89 inch pounds. Position the air conditioning compressor, set the bolts in place and tighten to 16 foot pounds.
- Step 4
Install the cooling fan, the charged air coolant pump and the generator. Connect the inlet and outlet hoses to the charged air cooling system. Fill the system.
- Step 5
Replace the supercharger. Secure it to the manifold.
