How to Replace the Exhaust Manifold in an Oldsmobile Alero

The Alero joined the Oldsmobile lineup without much fanfare and then went out without a whimper, albeit with stylish effort. The Alero was fun to drive, and that was its main draw. In the wake of well-established import competition, the Alero was discontinued in 2004, considered by many to be its best year. The following steps walk you through the installation of the 2.2L engine's exhaust manifold.

Lift the exhaust manifold from the engine. Pull the gasket and discard it.
