How to Replace a Power Mirror in a Mitsubishi Eclipse

The Mitsubishi Eclipse is a high-performance sporty car that competes with the best high-performance vehicles. The power mirror construction in the 2000 to 2005 models is the same and the replacement requires removal of the entire door panel to access mirror wires.

    Remove Old Mirror
  1. Step 1

    Disconnect the Eclipse negative cable to the battery.

  2. Step 2

    Unscrew all interior door trim panel screws. Take the entire door panel and water proof film cover off the door.

  3. Step 3

    Remove the triangle-shaped interior mirror cover from the top of the door panel. Take your time and slowly pry the cover off with your hands. If the tweeter speaker is located under this piece, remove it.

  4. Step 4

    Disconnect the mirror wiring connection.

  5. Step 5

    Remove the door trim bracket around the mirror and remove the mounting nuts.

  6. Step 6

    Pull the power mirror off the Mitsubishi Eclipse.

  7. Install New Mirror
  8. Step 1

    Put the new mirror on your Eclipse.

  9. Step 2

    Install the door trim bracket. Put the mounting nuts back which hold the mirror in place.

  10. Step 3

    Reconnect the wiring to the new mirror.

  11. Step 4

    Install the triangle interior cover and tweeter speaker.

  12. Step 5

    Put the door film cover on and then the door trim panel.

  13. Step 6

    Connect the negative battery cable.
