How to Replace a Power Mirror in a Kia Spectra

The Kia Spectra's complex power mirror and door panel construction makes it a replacement project for an experienced do-it-yourself vehicle owner. However, the project only requires a few basic tools for all model years.

  • Screwdriver
  • Wrench
    Remove Old Mirror
  1. Step 1

    Take the door inner cover off the panel. Remove the door handle cover and arm rest by taking out the screws.

  2. Step 2

    Remove the Kia's door trim panel fastener and screws, and pull the trim panel out.

  3. Step 3

    Detach all electrical connectors to windows, mirrors and locks.

  4. Step 4

    Twist the mirror mounting nuts off.

  5. Step 5

    Push both sides of the clip holding the mirror in, and pull the mirror assembly off the car.

  6. Install New Mirror
  7. Step 1

    Push the new mirror into place making sure the stabilizing clips snap into place.

  8. Step 2

    Replace the mounting nuts.

  9. Step 3

    Attach all electrical connectors including the Kia Spectra's new mirror.

  10. Step 4

    Put the door trim panel back in place, add all screws, and put the door handle cover and arm rest back in place.
