How to Replace a Power Mirror in a Geo Tracker

Many vehicles require a complete door panel removal. However, The Geo Tracker has a separate panel just for replacing an old or broken mirror. The process for mirror replacement is the same for all model years.

    Remove Old Mirror
  1. Step 1

    Disconnect the Tracker's negative battery cable, then roll the side window down.

  2. Step 2

    Pry the triangle mirror panel inside the door off using a wooden or plastic prytool.

  3. Step 3

    Remove the bolts that hold the mirror in place using a screwdriver and wrench when necessary.

  4. Step 4

    Unplug the electric connector to the mirror. Pull the mirror completely out of the assembly of the Geo Tracker.

  5. Step 5

    Take the mirror off the door, and remove the outer mirror trim panel and mirror gasket. If the gasket is damaged in any way, replace it with a new one.

  6. Install New Mirror
  7. Step 1

    Put the gasket and outer mirror trim panel in place.

  8. Step 2

    Place the new Geo mirror into place. Attach the mounting bolts that hold it in place.

  9. Step 3

    Re-connect the power wire by snapping the new connector into the power source from the old connector.

  10. Step 4

    Put the interior mirror cover (the triangle piece) into place by pushing it back in until it snaps.

  11. Step 5

    Connect the negative battery cable as your last step, and test your mirror to make sure it works.
