How to Replace a Power Mirror in a Dodge Durango

Dodge's sports utility vehicle, the Durango, is a high-performance vehicle that can take a beating. However, an SUV still needs replacement parts from time to time. To replace the Durango mirror for all model years, you must remove the entire door panel.

    Remove Old Mirror
  1. Step 1

    Disconnect the negative battery cable before starting.

  2. Step 2

    Take the inside door trim panel off your Dodge Durango. Remove all screws and clips that hold it in place around the outside and near the arm rest.

  3. Step 3

    Pull the sponge-like mirror flag door seal off the inside assembly of the mirror. Disconnect the wire attached to the mirror.

  4. Step 4

    Remove the bolts and nuts that attach the door frame and mirror.

  5. Step 5

    Separate the entire mirror assembly from the door, and completely remove it.

  6. Install New Mirror
  7. Step 1

    Put the new mirror in place, and attach the nuts and bolts in the same order you removed them. Secure them tightly before moving to the next Step.

  8. Step 2

    Connect the mirror wire to the Durango's electrical supply wire coming out of the door panel. Replace the mirror flag door seal.

  9. Step 3

    Put the door trim panel back in place, snap all clips into place and replace all screws.
