How to Replace a Power Mirror in a Chrysler Sebring

Changing a power mirror in a Chrysler Sebring is a challenging job. While the replacement of the mirror is simple, taking the entire door panel off to access the electrical cords makes this job a big project for all Sebring model years.

    Remove Old Mirror
  1. Step 1

    Find a trim tool at your local auto parts store before you start this task. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Step 2

    Lower the side window first, then disconnect the negative battery cable in your Chrysler Sebring.

  3. Step 3

    Remove the entire door panel by starting with the screw by the arm rest. Take the cap off this screw and the others located around the outside edges of the door. Once the caps are off, take all screws out of the panel.

  4. Step 4

    Take the screw attaching the door handle out, and use a trim tool to pop the clips out around the entire door, and pull door panel from the door.

  5. Step 5

    Loosen and take the watershield off the power mirror casing. Then disconnect the power mirror cord from the connection in the door panel of the Sebring.

  6. Step 6

    Take out the screws holding the mirror in place. Remove the old mirror.

  7. Install New Mirror
  8. Step 1

    Put the new mirror into place, and tighten the screws to attach the mirror to the door panel.

  9. Step 2

    Re-connect the power mirror cord to the cord on the door panel.

  10. Step 3

    Pop the watershield back in place. Install the mirror cover by replacing the screws.

  11. Step 4

    Attach the door panel using the clips first, then tighten all screws. Return the screw caps in the reverse order on the Sebring.

  12. Step 5

    Connect the battery, and test the power mirror to make sure it works.
