Determine which fuel injector your Kia Spectra will need. This depends not only on the make and model, but also the engine size. All versions of the Kia Spectra have a 2.0L engine.
- Step 2
Relieve the fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative battery cable with a socket wrench. Detach the fuel injector electrical connectors and remove the fuel lines from the fuel rail.
- Step 3
Disconnect the bracket for the accelerator cable with a socket wrench so you can move the accelerator cable aside if needed. Loosen the fuel rail retaining bolts with a socket wrench and lift the fuel rail out of the engine compartment with the injectors still attached.
- Step 4
Remove the retaining clips for the fuel injectors and take out the fuel injectors. Remove and discard the old O-rings.
- Step 5
Lubricate the new O-ring seals with clean engine oil and install the new fuel injectors. Fasten the fuel injector retaining clips and install the fuel rail mounting bolts with a socket wrench.
- Step 6
Replace the accelerator cable bracket if removed. Connect the fuel lines and the fuel injector electrical connectors. Attach a negative battery cable with a socket wrench.
