How to Enter the Radio Code In a 2001 Acura TL

The radio in your 2001 Acura TL will lock down once the power is cut to the radio unit. This is a protective feature of your Acura's radio that helps to prevent its unauthorized use. Once the battery has been disconnected, you'll need a radio code that was provided to you by your Acura dealer. If you do not have this code, you will not be able to reset your radio, and you will need to take your TL to an Acura dealership to have the radio reset for you.

Difficulty:
Moderately EasyInstructions
  1. Step 1

Press the "Power" button on your Acura TL's radio.

  2. Step 2

Wait for the display to flash "CODE."

  3. Step 3

Enter the radio code given to you by your Acura dealer on the number pad of the radio. The radio will reset once you press in the last digit.
