A steering column housing protects the steering column wiring and switches and improves the appearance of the wheel and column assembly. Whenever you need to access the underlying wiring, or replace a turn signal switch, you'll need to remove the housing. The process varies slightly from vehicle to vehicle, but the overall procedure is the same.

- Step 1
Remove the screws on the side of the steering column housing.
- Step 2
Pull the bottom half of the steering column housing down and away from the column to remove it.
- Step 3
Pull the top portion of the steering column housing up and away from the column to remove it.
