How to Change Brakes in a 2007 Ford F150 King Ranch

The 2007 Ford F-150 King Ranch is one of Ford's top trucks. It is full of special features. The King Ranch comes with four-wheel disc brakes, which are appreciated by at-home mechanics everywhere. Disc brakes are reliable, resilient and easy to change. The average brake change for all four tires takes two hours. So if you are driving down the road and your brakes squeal, don't worry about the hassle changing them might be.

Tire iron
Wood blocks
Floor jack
Jack stands
Socket wrench
Bungee cord
C-clamp

Step 1
Turn all of the lug nuts on the front tires one rotation counterclockwise to loosen them. Set the wood blocks behind the back tires to keep the truck from rolling.
Step 2
Place the floor jack beneath the front axle of the F-150. Raise the truck until the front tire is more than two inches from the ground. Set the jack stand under the same axle. Remove the tire by hand.
Step 3
Remove the bolts from the mounting bracket on the rotor with the socket wrench. Hang the bracket in the wheel well with the bungee cord. This will prevent strain on the brake line that protrudes from the rear of the bracket.
Step 4
Pull the brake pad clips (the silver clips holding the brake pads in) out of the bracket. Then pull out the brake pads. Keep the pins from each brake pad separate.
Step 5
Clamp the C-clamp on to the caliper mounting bracket. Press the stationary end against the rear of the bracket and position the movable end over the caliper cylinder in the center of the bracket. Compress the cylinder until it is flat on the bracket.
Step 6
Insert the new brake pads in to the slots where the old ones were and set the clips back in to place.
Step 7
Bolt the bracket back on to the rotor with the socket wrench. Set the tire back on to the wheel and finger tighten the lugs nuts. Lower the truck and tighten all of the lugs nuts with the tire iron.
