Just yesterday i experienced a scary incident while pulling up to get gas i went to put my car in park (automatic) and it locked in for a couple seconds then i started rolling backwards as if in reverse... whats up with that? And now whenever i put it in park i have to put the E-brake on or else i start going in reverse... anyone ever experience this or have any reason why it's happening to me and how can this be fixed? is it expensive because i'm a college student and not sure i'll have the money to fix it?
specs on the car:
'98 Chevy Camaro 3.8L V6
Automatic, Nothing Custom other than paint, wheels, air-filtration system, and exhaust. It would suggest that the linkage is bad. You think it's going all the way into park, but really it never gets beyond reverse.
Havea mechanic look at it.
