brake lights/ 1998 Dodge Dakota

I have checked the fuse and bulbs. But still no lights: do the tail lites work and its just the brake lites thats out?

if so, check the brake lite switch. its under the dash next to the brake pedal:



pull the connector off of the switch and use a short piece of wire to jump between the terminals in the connector. if the brake lites come on, replace the switch. Thank you I will try that and let you know. And yes the tail lights work.
