Chevy 2001 Silvrado 1500 2WD Brake rotors problem

Hi folks, I have a Chevy 2001 Silvrado 1500 2WD that needs rotors and pads. Can someone recommend some good ones?I dont want anything made in China.I live on a small stretch of dirt road.Ive looked on the internet and they are so many I dont know what to buy. Thanks, Glenn I haven't seen a made in USA rotor in a long time. They either come from Canada, Mexico, or China and sometimes Italy. Some of the parts we get that are made in the USA are junk, if you can believe that. We also get a lot of parts in which the box is printed in USA, but the part in the box is made some where overseas. Most of GM's OEM parts you get from the dealer are made in Mexico and their trucks are built in Canada using parts made in different countries. Most of the top quality parts we get that look top notch and have had beautiful machine work done come from Japan.

One of our customers demanded Spicer universal joints on his truck. We had to get them from the Mopar dealer because they were the only ones that carried Spicer in the area. Guess what? Spicer U joints are now being made in China which is printed right on the box under the Mopar emblem. I do have to admit they were very nicely machined high quality U joints compared to the supposed USA brand the customer picked up at a drive shaft shop in town. We can thank our big government and unions for running out our major corporations. Sorry just ranting.

As for pads, we had good luck so far with the Wagner Thermoquiet lineup. If you get shoes, make sure the shoe lining is glued on straight. the major aftermarket brake parts mfrs are bendix, wagner and raybestos. napa brake parts are good too, but dont know who makes them. they all offer diffrent price (and quality) levels, for most folks, the midrange product is the best combo of price and quality.

i like raybestos pg (professional grade) brake parts, in fact i use those on my personal truck and allways been satisfied with them. but like discrete said, u cant realy go by where there made. if u stick with a midrange product from any of the big mfrs, u should be ok.
