Brake Trouble on a 2000 Chevy Cavalier

For the past few weeks almost everytime I brake right before my car stops it feels like the brakes on the left side of my car release. I checked the brake fluid level and all looks fine. Can someone tell me what to check next? Hi neo, About 10 years ago GM had a problem with rear wheel speed sensors that would cause the same symptoms. A service bulletin came out that addressed that problem. Maybe a buletin exists that gives a fix and calling the saturn dealer service dept. might give the info needed to fix this problem. There really isn't anything you could do unless you knew how to use a scope or meter to monitor the wheel speed sensor ac voltage and aproching a stop it would show up and then you could replace the broken part at that wheel. Bill On the newer model Cavaliers, such as yours, the wheel speed sensors are monitored and if one is faulty your ABS and TRAC OFF light should illuminate at the same time.

I checked for bulletins from GM and there are none for this condition at this time.Car Repair Talk's forum.
