1998 Chevy 2500 Brake light going out (running lights OK)

I have searched the web, but haven’t had any luck finding an answer.

I have a 1998 Chevy 2500 pickup. The tail light bulbs (3057) stop working,
But if I bend the wires on the bulb, so they make contact they work again.

It seems they heat up and flatten against the glass. This also seems to be common with the Chevy trucks at my work.
where r u buying your bulbs? they shouldnt get that hot. is everybody at your work getting thier bulbs from the same place? try the chevy dealer. hope this helps. They were purchased from NAPA.
WAGER is the brand name.
I guess I'll try another name brand... Hi, The wagner bulb is a good name and shouldn't cause you problems. Maybe you have the wrong bulb in there and it is putting out too much heat and need to change bulbs i.e. if you put a 2057 bulb in for an 1157 it will work but the bulb puts out more heat because it is brighter and that might cause this problem. Are you sure it is supposed to be a 3057 and not something else? BillCar Repair Talk's forum.
