1993 Pontiac Bonneville brake light warning light

Whenever I put my car into drive the brake light warning light on my dash starts beeping and the light is on. It did this before but when I got my oil changed and fluids filled it stopped, but it didn't work when I changed it 1000 miles ago. My brakes work the same as they did before, not any worse and not any better. It also used to stop when I would put my brakes on but not anymore, its on constantly. I tried changing the fuses but that didn't work. The owner's manual said that I might need new brakes when this happens, but they aren't going out and the pedal isn't harder to push down and the pedal doesn't go clear to the floor either. Is there anything else I can do to fix this? The beeping is going to drive me crazy. You are likely low on brake fluid. Have you checked the level?

If the level is low, you either have worn brakes or a leak. The brakes on newer cars have these safety features. If there was no warning when the fluid level drops too low you could lose all brakes suddenly.

Thank that beeper.

If you aren't leaking, then prepare for a brake job in the near future.

An Alldata subscription would guide you through the process of changing your own brakes, which would save you a lot of money. Changing the brakes is not hard. Plus with the subscription you could repair anything on your vehicle that can go wrong and provides service bulletins.
