1994 Lexus ES300. I replaced the front pads with no problem. When attempting to replace the rear ones, the pads fit in fine, but it seem like they are too thick, and I can't lower the calliper over the pads, and into the original position. Of course, I already pushed the calliper piston all the way flush, so that's not the problem. Plenty of clearance on the inside pad, but it seems like the outside pad is keeping it from lining up properly. This car is basiclly a Toyota Camry, right? Tried pads from Kragen and Autozone, with the same result from both. Am I missing something? Are there different pad thicknesses for like cars?
Thanks in advance for your help. Are your caliper slide pins hanging? Slide pins? I don't have my manual, or car handy. Where exactly are those located on the caliper? Top, where it hinges? Bottom, where the rubber boots are? Yes. They should slide in and out easily to let the caliper move on the caliper mounting bracket. Sometimes they can jam from corrosion and cause the pads to hang up. I could of swore I replied here??

Try holding the pads in place on the caliper and sliding the whole assembly over the rotor. Possibly replied on edmunds forum. Can't go that route, as the pads have to fit into tabs, then the caliper is lowered.
