94 Intrepid air conditioner problem

It stopped blowing cold air yesterday, was working fine up till then. Ran all the tests that I know of, seems like the auto air control and computer are working ok, did the relearn by unhooking the battery. Checked for error codes in the temp controller, none logged, buddy said maybe it could be a plugged orifice, compressor is making a little noise, thought maybe some metal filings. need to know if this has one and where it might be located. Checked and seems to have plenty freon in it, lines don't get cold either. The orfice tube will be on the high pressure side of the lines, somwhere that the 2 lines connect together. I think that this year uses a expansion valve.... You need to see if you have a receiver/dryer or accumulator...also check the a/c condensor fan the fans on the newer 96-99 intrepids always lock up! I think the book says the expansion valve is located on the firewall in the end of the condensor and may have to take all that stuff apart ( looks like a big job) the accumulator/air drier is near the radiator, could that be a possible cause? or do they plug up?
