dodge caravan a/c compressor clutch noise

I have a 2000 Dodge Caravan that developed a noise in the a/c comp. clutch one day when I accelerated. The a/c still blows cool air, but the clutch scrapes and squeels when the a/c is on.

Can the clutch be bad without the compressor going too?
