I was removing my car stereo (battery still connected, foolishly), the ground cable touched the top of the climate control console (on the exposed circuit board), it sparked, and now I have no a/c and no heater/defrost. The dials (direction, temperature, etc.) do not respond. There is only air (which seems to be outside temperature) constantly blowing (which seems to be on low) through the top dash defrost vents. I lack experience troubleshooting this kind of thing. I would greatly appreciate any feedback or guidance. Thanks.
often times, a short to ground will blow a fuse before any damage is done. so check all the fuses first
if all the fuses is good, most likely the circuit board is fried and either it or the whole control panel would need to be replaced.Car Repair Talk's forum.
