1988 Honda Prelude A/C Compressor Problems

The a/c in my recently purchased Honda Prelude runs fine for 2-4 hours most of the time and then the comp red light comes on and the compressor stops coolings until I leave the car off for 5 or 6 hours. If overnight, it works fine the next morning. Some times there appears to be frost blowing out of the vents as well before my problems start. Any advice appreciated!Car Repair Talk's forum.
