'06 cobalt sluggish in wet conditions

I have a '06 cobalt ss and its being sluggish when idleing in cold wet condition like during rain or snow and when i accelerate while driving it bogs down every once in a while....im not sure where to start fixing things so i need a lil advice. is it a sensor or air filter or something is getting wet? which size engine? how many miles on it?

is the check engine lite on? or has it been on lately? 2.0L 75,000miles yes check engine light will come on during the wet condition but i haven't ran the code yet. ok, the first thing to do here is to find out what trouble codes are being stored. if u aint got a code reader, run the car by autozone, theyll pull codes for free. some other parts stores in your area may do this too.

dont let them sell u nothing yet. just get the exact code numbers that come up, not just a description, and post them here. thatll give us a big clue of where to start. the codes i get only during wet weather is p0103 and p0171 but they reset after so long and runs normal. they said it has something to do with my air flow which could mean my air filter or a cracked vacuum line or something basically my airflow sensor isn't reading right the place to start here is with the mass air flow (maf) sensor. its in the air intake tube between the air filter and throttle body.

take the sensor out and inspect it real close for cracks, breaks, etc. allso do a careful check of the wire connector. make sure the terminals are clean and tight, and that there aint no breaks in the wire insulation, including where the wires go into the connector. when u plug it back in, make sure the terminals seat nice and tight in the sensor.

id allso check for cracks or breaks in the air intake tube. make sure the air filter box has a tight seal too. check for the same thing on any hoses connected to the air intake tube.

any of these things can allow moisture to get into the circuit and booger up the signals to the computer. that can cause the computer to lean out the engine which can cause the problems u got. since this only happens in wet weather, the idea here is to try and find any places where moisture could get into the system.Car Repair Talk's forum.
