99 lesabre cold air on drivers side only

Hey guys, I'm new to the site and looking for help. I just bought a 1999 Buick Lesabre and the AC only blows cold air out the drivers side. The passengers side blows hot air, even if you adjust the climate control on the passenger door all the way to cooler. Could this be a problem with the diverter door? or Low pressure in the system? Any ideas would be appreciated. I do have SOME mechanical knowledge, but little to nothing with AC. Thanks in advance. Usually on those if you have a low charge, half the evaporator will get cold. I would have it evacuated to see how much refrigerant is actually in the system and have it flourescent dyed and recharged with the proper charge amount. I don't care for those auto part store recharging kits because you can easily overcharge the system. If it does happen to start blowing warm again, the dye will lead you to the leak. Thanks for the reply. I may have to take this in to get it looked at. After doing some reading. I may get in a bit over my head. It's not hard to fix. You have dual climate control. Behind the glove box you have a "passenger air mix valve actuator" (#4 in picture). Either that or the actuator rod popped off #2 temp. valve link. Removing the insert in the glove box should give you better access to it. I would think it's them items before the programmer. You would lose control of the drivers side too then.

Maybe I'll pop off a few panels and check this. Thanks grease monkey.Car Repair Talk's forum.
