a/c bypass pulley 1995 ford taurus

Greetings,
I have a 1995 ford taurus 3.0L motor. The a/c quit months ago, and recently I experienced smoke coming out of the engine(no connection to coolant overheating). I believe the compressor went south, so I disconnected via plug the juice to the a/c.
I'm trying to find a suitable out for continuing using the car w/o a/c. I can't seem to locate a bypass pulley for the car. Is the possibility of using a shorter serpentine belt and not connecting the a/c pulley feasable?

Thx. If you disconnected the plug, I assume you mean the one going to the A/C Clutch. If so, the compressor is not turning anyway. Unless the bearing is failing on the compressor pulley, I see no reason to do anything more. Assuming you like a hot steamy interior during the summer.
