the SRS shows up on the dash

QUESTION: hi iv'e taken my steering wheel off to fit a new indercater switch now the SRS shows up on the dash is it becouse i unplug the bag.can it be reset. can i do it my self thanks.and it's a 1997 mitsi diamante

I'm sorry to say, when you removed the airbag and turned on the key, you set a code for an open circuit to the driver's side airbag. The only way to clear that code on your vehicle is by using a scan tool (Mitsubishi or AIRBAG scan tool ONLY).
The airbag computer is different than the 'check engine' computer and requires a different scanner.
